Here are some helpful tips to help you to stay calm for your first job interview
Make sure to get enough sleep the night before your interview. About 6-8 hours of
sleep is essential for promoting a positive mood, soothing the nervous system, and boosting concentration, all of which is extremely important for doing well on the next job interview. Additionally, make sure to avoid caffeine and exercise if possible. You want to feel relaxed when talking to a potential employer!
Another important relaxing technique is to try popping in some headphones. You can choose to listen to your favorite music to get your heart pumping and help calm nerves. To specifically manage anxiety, you can try squeezing stress balls, counting to ten and also wearing accommodations such as headsets to battle sensory challenges.
Participating in a break or lounge area to practice calmness is a great way to feel empowered and to also settle in various sensory challenges. Yoga, practicing mindfulness and breathing deeply can also help to promote calmness before a big interview. For your reference, I have listed a few apps that may guide your journey of practicing mindfulness and meditation techniques: Aura, Insight Timer, Headspace, and Simple Habit.
Remember: This list does not provide all the solutions, so please only consider them as tips!
