Pinky Penmark is making a special appearance for adult prom night to help support the mission of Earth to Autism. The mission that Pinky is supporting is one that helps adults with autism to train and find meaningful employment in green jobs. Earth to Autism is actively working to create the first of many green workspaces where adults with autism can train for employment. These green and innovative workspaces will offer a great deal of hope to those who are affected by autism in our community. In order to create these workspaces, we need the help of our supporters in the community. Our first client is excited to start working with us so we need to build the first workspace which will be an urban garden. In order to make this vision a reality we are holding an Adult Prom fundraiser on Friday the 13th at Flying Boat from 7pm-11pm. Please join us as we dance the night away with Pinky and create hope for adults with autism and their families in Tampa Bay. We are asking for a suggested donation of $5 dollars per person to attend the event. Please call 727-710-0649 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. We thank you in advance for your support!
Had a great time sharing a table with Autism Society of Florida today at the Promising Pathways conference in Ft. Meyers. Sara Spence was the keynote speaker and she had lots to share on the topic of diagnosis and the DSM-5 as she was on the team that worked on the revisions in 2013.
Our Board of Directors had its monthly meeting last night. Mike Anthony and Paul Thompson were nominated to join the board. Congrats to both! We think they’d be exceptional contributors to the board and to supporting the mission of E2A.
I had a blast visiting Improv class on Monday night with a fine group of aspiring actors and their wonderful instructor Brianna that are part of Theater Exceptional. I wanted to thank them for including me in the class! Please visit their website http://www.bluebutterflyproductions.org to learn more about their upcoming classes and productions.
I hope everyone is lighting it up blue for Autism Awareness today!
It’s Autism Awareness month! I hope you light it blue, embrace diversity, and plant a tree this month!!
Earth to Autism is in need of Pinky’s spirit and enthusiasm to keep us going so we have asked Pinky to prom. She thought about it, painted over it, and decided with the right boots it could be a fun time! So the boots have been ordered, she’s found a date, and she’s ready to take the crown! We hope you will join us April 13, 2018 at 7pm as we welcome Pinky back for one night only and dance the night away! Don’t forget to order your tickets ($5 per person, $8 for couple/$10 at the door per couple), bring cash for the raffle prize (4 pack of Ray’s tickets) and dress to impress. There will be a prom king and queen for the 70’s, 80’s & now! For tickets call 727-710-0649 or follow the link to Eventbrite on our facebook page.
