Today was our second beach clean-up of the spring and our biggest turn out since returning to action. There were 13 of us who combed the beach today picking up trash. Many people don’t realize until they actually do a beach clean up just how much trash is left behind after a fun and relaxing day at the beach. We found pool noodles, a yeti tumbler, and loads of cigarette butts on the beach. All of this could have wound up in the gulf had it not been for our team of volunteers.
Earth to Autism is planning to do a beach clean-up each month as we now realize just how important it is that we do our part to keep our beaches clean. We hope you’ll join us next month. The plan is to do a beach clean up in Madeira Beach at sunset and maybe have a pot luck dinner. If you are interested in joining us please let us know.
I would like to thank everyone who came out today to help. You could have done many other things this morning but you chose to get up early on a Sunday and sweat it out with me. Thank you for being the change.
